Frequently Asked Questions
What type of pressure gauge is this? +
It is a Bourdon-type pressure gauge for local pressure indication. The dry versions cover standard-duty use, while the SG version is glycerine-filled for harsher operating conditions.
Does it read gauge pressure or absolute pressure? +
Gauge pressure. The dry-gauge datasheets state that the device is zero-referenced against ambient pressure and reads zero when disconnected from the equipment.
When should the glycerine-filled version be selected? +
Choose the FPGB_SG016 version where vibration, pulsation or higher dynamic pressure loads are present. The glycerine filling improves pointer stability and is better suited to rougher service conditions.
Can these gauges be used with any fluid or gas? +
No. The datasheets limit use to gaseous and liquid media that are not highly viscous or crystallising and that will not attack copper alloy parts.
Are all versions CE-marked? +
No. The FPGB_P010 and FPGB_P016 datasheets state PED 2014/68/EU Art. 4.3 SEP exemption from CE marking, while the FPGB_SG016 datasheet shows PED 2014/68/EU and CE marking.
